"We wanted to write it from a guy-angle perspective, so we didn't keep it his or her, so everyone can relate to it,” Stanton explained.

Breaking up is never easy, but the guys of Muscadine Bloodline make the change sound like a good time on “Movin’ On.”

Taking the relatable topic and spinning it on its head by singing from the guy’s point of view, the duo opened up the many possibilities of how good getting over someone feels. Hoping for listeners to understand the common relationship debacle, Gary Stanton of the group ran with the concept of going forward with life and let the lyrics just flow out.

“We have this idea called ‘Movin’ On,’ and basically the whole song is about the realization of when you’re moving on for something, it’s such a big deal. Because getting broken up with really sucks, or whatever it is, but you can go to that bar and see your friends and not think about her. You can drive by the house, that you used to pick her up at, and you don’t even look down the street, and that’s just that realization of like, ‘Hey, I feel like I’m over this.’ So that was just a cool thing, and we wanted to write it from a guy-angle perspective, so we didn’t keep it his or her, so everyone can relate to it,” Stanton explained to Sounds Like Nashville during a recent interview.

Fans who have already heard this song performed live by Muscadine Bloodline constantly come up to the duo to discuss their personal connections to the song. Although they meant it to be about a breakup perspective in the writing session, others direct the message toward very different aspects of life that need a bit of a jumpstart to moving on for the better.

“It’s kind of weird that whole how many different sides of the story people have interpreted it as. People are like, it’s a breakup or this is getting met through my divorce or whatever,” said Stanton.

“Movin’ On” is featured on Muscadine Bloodline’s EP, which is available now.
