Runaway June’s Naomi Cooke married her fiancé Martin Johnson in an intimate ceremony in Rangeley, Maine over the weekend. The singer shared news of her nuptials on social media with photos from the wedding, which took place overlooking water at Bald Mountain Resort. Cooke said she and Johnson, who is lead singer of the rock band The Night Game and Boys Like Girls, were surrounded by a “fortress of friends” on their special day.
“Over the weekend A small but might fortress of friends and family held hands in a circle around us as we turned the page into a brand new chapter of life as husband and wife,” she wrote, before going on to thank the people who made the wedding happen.
The post garnered many congratulatory comments from her country music friends, including from Carrie Underwood, Lindsay Ell, Maddie & Tae’s Maddie Font, Devin Dawson, Dan Smyers’ wife Abby, and more. Cooke’s Runaway June bandmate Jennifer Wayne also commented to wish her well. “I love this so much!!! Mrs. Johnson,” she wrote.
Cooke’s husband, Johnson, also posted many photos from the occasion. The pictures shared by him show the couple watching fireworks, dancing, and boarding a small plane.
“mr. + mrs. johnson,” the groom wrote simply.
Cooke announced her engagement to Johnson in December with a fun photo of the two of them, featuring her showing off her new ring. “By the look of my nails, he surprised me,” she wrote, referencing her unpainted nails.
The singer regularly posts photos of their adventures together, which often includes camping and traveling to Wyoming, Maine and other locations. Cooke posted a sweet photo of herself and her fiancé in June with the caption “We’re getting married.”
Cooke will rejoin Runaway June bandmates Wayne and Natalie Stovall on tour next month, starting in Maryland Heights, Missouri on August 19.
