Nashies, rejoice… Your favorite TV show is coming back!

The Tennessean is reporting that the show will return for a fifth season, airing on CMT and Hulu. The deal includes a typical full-length season, featuing 22 brand new episodes, which is more than many cable television dramas usually receive. According to the publication, the deal was made after weeks of negotiations between the network, Hulu and Lionsgate.

Although the show is definitely on its way back to television, it is still unsure if Connie Britton and Hayden Panettiere will participate in the new season due to negotiation deals. While Lionsgate TV chairman Kevin Beggs says the stars are ‘essential’ to the drama’s storyline, there is no current news on the status of their roles.

After ABC canceled the fan-favorite drama series after just four seasons, hundreds of thousands of fans took to social media to share their disappointment. The hashtag #BringBackNashville has been trending for several weeks and nearly 200,000 fans have signed an online petition to revive the show.

The show will be led by a brand new creative team and will follow the heartwrenching cliffhanger left during the finale episode of season 4.
