After a little hiccup when the Nashville Predators hockey club seemed to have lost their abilities to stop a puck or score a goal for a few weeks, the team seems to have gotten the train back on the rails thanks to some stellar goalie play from Pekka Rinne and Juuse Saros. And while it’s always more fun when the boys in gold are winning, it’s always a good time any time you’re inside Bridgestone Arena while the Preds are playing. From the rocking soundtrack provided by the game operations staff between plays plus the local musical acts on the bandstand between periods and organist “Krazy Kyle” whenever he feels like it to the hyperkinetic activities of Preds mascot Gnash, a game at the Barn on Broadway is a riot for the senses. Plus, don’t forget about the talented skaters careening up and down the ice, and not just the young ladies and gentlemen scraping the ice with shovels during television timeouts.

As if that wasn’t enough to attract fans to home games, the Predators offer all sorts of special them nights and giveaways to add even more value to the price of your ticket. On Fan Foodie Nights, they offer 50% off of all food and soft drink items (no, not beer, you greedy lush!) so that you can take the whole family and feed them without making too big of a dent in your wallet. An upcoming food discount night is January 16 against the Anaheim (not-so-mighty) Ducks. January 7 is Ladies Night Out with the Preds where the fairer sex will receive a logo wine tumbler with their ticket purchase, plus it’s also one of their popular bobblehead giveaway nights with the first 8000 fans through the gates taking home a commemorative Pekka Rinne statuette. As a bonus, attendees will get to aggressively boo our opponents that night, the Bruins of Boston!

Speaking of bobbleheads, everybody loves these wobbly cranium souvenirs. Other planned upcoming bobblehead nights will be February 13 vs. the N.Y. Islanders where they’ll be handing out tiny Ryan Johansens, a fan favorite Viktor Arvidsson giveaway on March 2 and a Matt Duchene gift on April 1, no foolin’! February 18 is Pride Night with the Preds with ticket purchasers going home with a special limited edition rainbow t-shirt. The Preds popular Star Wars Night will be February 27 as our Rebels try to blast the Evil Empire from Calgary known as The Flames. Gnash will celebrate his birthday on March 21 against the Philadelphia Flyers. We’re pretty sure that’s a pretty arbitrary date, but who’s gonna quibble with an athletic saber-toothed tiger?! The big cat is sharing his party with the first thousand children in attendance who will receive with a free pillow so they can see over the tall guy sitting in front of them.

Check your calendar, pick your dates and buy your tickets so you can join in the fun. Go Preds!
