The television music drama released a clip to all of its social media accounts of a 15-second preview of what season five has in store for the cast. Seeing some familiar faces and leaving the unexpected left hanging in the air, fans can only assume at this point what is coming this winter.
As seen in the clip, fan favorites like Rayna James and Deacon Claybourne will be returning as well as a few new faces being added to the crew. Staying on for this season will include Connie Britton, Charles Esten, Hayden Panettiere, Sam Palladio, Lennon and Maisy Stella, Clare Bowen, Chris Carmack and Jonathan Jackson. Joining the big cast are Jen Richards and Rhiannon Giddens, and the casting of the character of Clay is still waiting to be selected.
Many fans of the show are anxiously awaiting the outcome of the crazy season four cliffhanger, in which the status of Juliette Barnes (Panettiere) is unknown after hearing that the plane she was on was not on the radar at that time.
Season five of Nashville will premiere on January 5 on CMT with episodes streaming on Hulu the following day.
