NBC Releases First ‘Sound of Music’ Promo Spot

NBC has released the first television promo spot for “The Sound of Music Live!,” which debuts December 5 at 8/7c on NBC.

Carrie Underwood, who stars as Maria von Trapp in the production, is predominately featured in the new clip. The superstar, who has been living in New York for a few weeks now, has been hard at work preparing for her role. She and fellow cast mates Stephen Moyer, Audra McDonald, Laura Benanti, and Christian Borle recognize that they’re entering uncharted waters with a production like this.

“This is a live show on TV. So this is definitely a challenge for all of us,” Underwood told The Associated Press last week at the TJ Martell Honors Gala.

Underwood will also be featured on “The Sound of Music” soundtrack, which hits stores December 3.
