Emily West has released her new single, “Blue Sky,” to country radio this week and it features her label-mate Keith Urban. The song, which is the debut single from Emily’s upcoming album, is a heartbreaking song that she co-wrote after he parents ended their 32-year marriage.
“That time period was devastating and so difficult to go through but I needed to let go and just write my pain out on paper,” shares West. “I'm happy to have experienced the healing process of creating such a personal piece of art and only hope it touches someone else's life.”
Once Emily sent the song to Keith Urban, he listened and agreed to sing on the song as well as play guitar. Urban explains, “Emily West is an original. She had this song she wanted me to hear and it was 'Blue Sky'. I just loved it.”
Emily can currently be seen in the new issue of People Country as well as on GAC’s Introducing Emily West.
