Nicole Kidman Recalls The Moment She Fell For Keith Urban

Keith Urban and Nicole Kidman are one of the strongest celebrity couples in both the country music and Hollywood worlds. They have been married 13 years and have two children together, and although so much time has gone by since they first started dating, Kidman says she still remembers the exact moment she fell for the country singer. She shared with WSJ Magazine that she knew Urban was the one when he took her on a motorcycle ride in Woodstock, NY and prepared a picnic.
“I was a goner,” she says. “I mean, c’mon.”
Kidman continued, saying that one of the reasons she and Urban work so well together is because they are different.
“He’s pretty much the flipside of neurotic,” she says.
Urban, who says he “married up,” also reflected on some of their good differences while chatting with Billboard recently. He specifically marveled at her fearless attitude in respect to her career.
“Her whole thing is like, ‘I’m interested in that. I’m going to go over there,’” he says. “It’s not like, ‘Oh, can I do it? Should I do it?’ None of that ever comes into it. She just goes towards something and I’m like, ‘Can you do that?’ She goes, ‘I don’t know, but I’m interested in that.’”
Not only does Urban admire Kidman’s ability to jump into the unknown artistically, but he says it has even inspired him to do the same.

“That fearlessness, and it’s actually not even fearlessness. Fear doesn’t come into it. It’s only curiosity. It’s pure curiosity,” he says. “She just goes without questioning it. That’s definitely had a big impact on my music in the last five, six years, particularly.”
Urban and Kidman both have demanding jobs, with him being one of the top entertainers in country music and her being a busy and successful actress, but Kidman says they are committed to making their relationship work, no matter how hard it may be.
“When Keith’s not touring, it’s much easier,” she says. “He’ll be on tour next year, and then I just don’t work as much. It will become imbalanced, and we will change it. We don’t have the answers, but the one thing we do know is that we will not jeopardize us.”
