Keith Urban has been dubbed the “King of Romance,” as he constantly sweeps his wife, actress Nicole Kidman, off her feet and makes women everywhere swoon over his actions. During an interview in May 2017 on The Graham Norton Show, the singer explained how he lit up the sky ten years ago for a very romantic evening on Kidman’s 40th birthday.

“I lit off a ton of fireworks,” he explained at the time. “She was shooting a film in Australia and we were in this very small town in Australia. I miraculously found some company nearby that did fireworks and said, ‘Just bring everything you have. Just bring everything.’ And there was like a little mountaintop or something and I had a couch taken up there, dropped off there, and we drove up there. We got out of the car and I said, ‘Oh look, there’s a couch over here!’ She’s like, ‘A couch?’ We sat down and then all these fireworks started going off.”

At the time of the show, Urban kept tight-lipped on what he had planned this year for his bride’s 50th birthday, but when Kidman reappeared on the British talk show months later, Norton couldn’t help but ask about what had happened.

“He did some fireworks… and other stuff,” an embarrassed Kidman revealed. “And we’ll draw the veil there,” said Norton to raucous laughter from the audience and the rest of the guests on the couch guessed ‘bouncy castles,’ ‘donkey rides,’ ‘balloon modeling’ and the like.

Kidman also explained her EMMYs smooch with Big Little Lies co-star Alexander Skarsgård after people began commenting on social media about the moment. “I kissed my husband too,” defended Kidman, who won an EMMY for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Miniseries or Movie. “I’ve got an amazing, supportive, gorgeous husband who I love more than anything in the world.”

The couple exchanged vows on June 25, 2006 in Sydney, Australia. They share two daughters, Sunday Rose (2008) and Faith Margaret (2010).
