Noah Reid Shows Off His Love and Support in ‘Got You’

Singer/songwriter Noah Reid stole hearts in season three of Schitt’s Creek when he sang an acoustic version of Tina Turner’s “Simply the Best” during Open Mic Night as his character Patrick Brewer. Like David Rose (Dan Levy), fans were brought to tears both by the moving sentiment and arrangement of the song, as well as Reid’s silky-smooth voice.

Fans of the show and music lovers alike can get more of Reid’s music with the release of “Got You,” the fourth song from his upcoming sophomore album Gemini. The guitar-filled track has Reid singing of supporting someone through their choices, allowing them to fail or fly, and affirming that he’s always there to lend his support no matter the outcome.

But don’t you ever doubt / don’t you ever question my love for you / I will help you out, if you let me / ’cause I got you and you get me/ oh I’m gonna get you, like you got me,” he sings in the track.

“I wrote the song as a reminder to myself that sometimes it’s important to be there for the people you love while they’re figuring things out, without stepping in and taking over and trying to fix it for them,” the Canadian native tells Sounds Like Nashville.

Reid is best known for his starring role as Patrick Brewer on the Emmy-nominated sitcom Schitt’s Creek, which aired it’s sixth and final season earlier this year. His musical capabilities were showcased with the updated rendition of Tina Turner’s “Simply The Best,” that climbed to Number Three on the iTunes Canada Charts. He released his debut album, Songs From a Broken Chair, in 2016.

Noah’s second album, Gemini, will be released on Friday, May 29. Pre-order the project now and get instant downloads of “Got You,” “Hold On,” “Jacob’s Dream” and Honesty” now.
