Olympian Has His Eyes On A Medal… And Taylor Swift!
American Olympian Will Brandenburg is on the ski slopes in Vancouver with his eyes set on an Olympic medal, but he also used a little piece of Olympic attention to try and gain a fan out of Taylor Swift. Brandenburg has been the subject of some good-hearted teasing by his teammates for his love of Swift’s music, but he’s not ashamed! “I have one of her albums,” he said. “They (guys on the ski team) like to give me a hard time about that and I said, ‘She’s really cool. She’s like the girl next door.’ They gave me even more (grief) about that.”
During an interview with MTV, with some encouraging from his teammate, Brandenburg used the opportunity to try and convince Taylor to be his valentine. Watch his plea below…
“I’ve had a crush on her for a little while so I thought I’d give it a shot and see what happens,” said Brandenburg, after the interview. “I’m a straight shooter, so I just went at it and asked her out. I’m a simple guy, so a nice little dinner and a movie, and if she wants to learn how to ski, I’ll take her skiing.”
While he keeps his fingers crossed in hopes for a response from Swift, Brandenburg will compete tomorrow in the Super Combined.
