‘Opry Country Classics’ Returns For 3rd Year
(Mel & Pam Tillis)
The songs country music fans love most are set to take the stage of the historic Ryman Auditorium in the return of Opry Country Classics each Thursday beginning March 31 for a nine-week run. Each Opry Country Classics show features a variety of country legends and newcomers performing all-time favorites plus a Spotlight Artist performing several of his or her biggest hits and personal favorites.
The first show of the season will feature as Spotlight Artist Country Music Hall of Famer and Grand Ole Opry star Mel Tillis. A singer, songwriter, entertainer and actor, Tillis has had over 60 Top 40 hits and was CMA Entertainer of the Year in 1976. Also along for the fun of the first show will be Tillis’ award-winning daughter and fellow Opry member Pam Tillis, show host and consummate entertainer Larry Gatlin, the Gatlin Brothers, Lynn Anderson, and more. Pam Tillis is scheduled to return to the show as a Spotlight Artist later in the season. Among other Spotlight Artists scheduled for the spring are Grammy-winners The Charlie Daniels Band and Oak Ridge Boys, and Nashville favorites The Time Jumpers.
