Our Exclusive Interview with Luke Bryan

We had the opportunity to do an e-mail Q&A with Luke Bryan. As you know, we love Luke- He’s an amazing songwriter, performer, and vocalist. He’s accomplished a lot this past year and we know the future still holds a lot for him.

Luke’s debut album, “I’ll Stay Me” landed at #2 and his first single, “All My Friends Say” skyrocketed up the charts to give Luke his first top 5 single! After touring with acts such as Dierks Bentley, Trace Adkins, and Sara Evans last winter/spring, Luke recently finished up a summer tour with country music superstar, Kenny Chesney. Don’t worry, he’s not taking time off, Luke has a full list of tour dates continuing through the end of 2008. If you haven’t seen him live, you need to put that on the top of your to do list, he’s a great entertainer!

Luke’s current single “Country Man” sits at #12 this week and is steadily climbing up the charts each week.

CMIL: Looking back on the Poets & Pirates tour- what did you learn that you’ll take with you on your own career path? Did the reining Entertainer of the Year have any tips for you?

Luke Bryan: “You know one of the most important things I learned is that you have to work harder on those shows to reach each and every fan in the stadium. You might think that because of the huge audience your adrenaline kicks in and that does it, but with me I want everyone in the audience to walk away a Luke Bryan fan. I work really hard to make sure that every fan there who paid their hard earned money to be there gets every pennies worth from me and my show. I feel like I have to make the show a special experience for every fan there from the front row to the seats at the top of the stadium. I do what I do for the fans they are the people that makes this worth while.”

CMIL: At this stage of your career, you’re on the road a lot. Is the road a fun place to be? Do you have any favorite memories of touring so far?

Luke Bryan: “It is hard having a family and having to leave them at home, but the road is a great place to be between the people that you meet and the friends that you make it feels like home after a while. I have a part of my life on the road with me everyday in my band. We have a great time together as you can see in the webisode series we have called “MUST SEE LBTV!” We came up with that to help my fans see who I really am when I am away from the stage. We have been having a blast with it and really love to provide my fans with that real look at my life.”

CMIL: What is the craziest/coolest thing a fan has ever done for you?

Luke Bryan: “A fan gave me a road sign that says Buck Island Road , which is from my song “We Rode In Trucks.” That is one of the coolest moments I have had on the road this summer because that song means so much to me and has been such a huge part of my life. That song speaks to my heart about home, and that road sign from my fan allows me to take a piece of home with me everywhere I go, and that is cool.”

CMIL: You’ve mentioned that you’re working on some new music…when can we expect a new album?

Luke Bryan: “Well you should be hearing some new stuff from me on the road if you come out to a show this summer. I have been testing it out on the fans along the way and have gotten some great responses. You should be able to hear my new stuff on the radio next year, and I should have a new CD in stores in the summer of 2009. I am really excited about the new project, and I think you are going to love it.”

We’d like to thank everyone who made this interview possible!
