Paisley’s Plans for 2009
2008 was a big year for Brad Paisley and he’s already planning for 2009 to be better.
“I checked major things off this bucket list, even though I’m a little young to have a bucket list,” Paisley told The Tennessean of 2008. “But 2008 feels like the kind of year where, I’m either going to look back and go, ‘Yeah, that was it for (my career).’ Or it was a launching point to sort of have even more fuel as I go in to make this next record. And that is a good feeling.”
Paisley released his album, “Play,” last month, but don’t think he’s taking time off. Brad says he’s already in the studio writing and recording for another album due next summer. He already has between six and ten songs and says five of them will definitely be on the album.
He’s also planning another major tour for 2009 and admits that even though he has won multiple male vocalist awards, he is eyeing Kenny Chesney’s title as Entertainer of the Year.
He told the Tennessean, “I would be lying if I said I didn’t (think about it.) I grew up watching these shows where they gave out (the entertainer award), and Kenny and I have had talks about it. We’re old friends, and when we talk about those kinds of things he’s been very vocal and supportive. He says, ‘Come get it.’ “
Brad’s “Paisley Party tour” continues through early 2009 with special guests Dierks Bentley and Darius Rucker. Brad and his wife Kimberly are expecting their 2nd child in early 2009 as well.
