It’s been a long road to recovery for country legend Mel Tillis since his health scare back in January of 2016. Although he’s held strong throughout each and every procedure, his daughter, Pam Tillis, recently took to her Facebook page to ask fans for their prayers.
The music icon had been working through a heavy performance schedule when he suffered from a rather critical diverticulitis attack about a year ago, and was put into the ICU for almost a month’s time. After recuperating in various facilities around the Nashville area, Pam confirmed to fans through her post that he is working hard to remain back on track with his journey to gaining full strength again.
“Currently, he is at home in Ocala, Florida receiving full time in-house care. His transition, initially, involved a few more weeks in the hospital there. Now, he’s back at home and on track. His vital signs are good and his sense of humor is fully intact,” she wrote, ensuring his supporters that he isn’t down for the count just yet.
Pam also confirmed that he has no future plans or performances scheduled for this upcoming year, as he will continue to focus on his health before returning to the stage. She did, however, assure fans that they always stay close to Mel’s heart.
“There are no foreseeable personal appearances, as of now,” she posted. “He misses his fans as much as they miss him. I miss performing with him very much, particularly at Christmas as I reminisce about all the family Christmas shows we did over the years. I play his music as people walk into my own concerts.”
After asking for prayers and thanking the fans for all of their unconditional support, Pam said she will post updates along the way when they come across any significant developments.
