Parker McCollum popped the question to his longtime girlfriend Hallie Ray Light, and as he shared in a July 1st photo of the two of them, “She said yes!” McCollum announced the news on Instagram with a smiling photo of the two of them and Hallie showing off her ring.

The announcement got plenty of comments from fans and fellow country singers alike, with Dierks Bentley writing, “Whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa??!” and Jake Owen writing, “Congrats dude.” Morgan Wallen, Steve Moakler, Koe Wetzel, Randy Montana and many others also sent their congratulations to the happy couple. Light also posted Instagram stories from the special night on her profile.

McCollum and Light have been dating for a while according to social media, and on May 30, the hit singer-songwriter posted a sweet photo of them, to which Jake Owen commented, “Put a ring on it son.” Light has also posted many snaps of herself with McCollum. On June 15, she posted several photos to celebrate the singer’s birthday.

“HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO MY GUY!!! I feel so lucky to celebrate you today,” she wrote. “You’re my whole world & I could not imagine life without you. Thank you for all of the laughs, smiles & date nights! Hope today is everything you deserve! I love you more than anything Parker. cheers to many more birthdays in our future!!!”

Shortly after the engagement, McCollum tweeted, “Time to go make it big in country music,” and he’ll be continuing that journey with the release of his major-label debut album, Gold Chain Cowboy, on July 30. The album will feature 10 tracks, including his first No. 1 hit “Pretty Heart,” his latest single “To Be Love By You,” and a duet with Danielle Bradbery called “Dallas.” Each track was co-written by McCollum. Other writers include Jon Randall (who also produced the project), Randy Montana and Brian Kelley. Miranda Lambert also co-wrote a track called “Falling Apart.”
