Parker McCollum is soaking in that first time feeling as he notched his first ever No. 1 hit in his career.

The country newcomer is celebrating the big accomplishment earned by his debut single, “Pretty Heart,” which soared to the top of the Billboard and Mediabase charts. McCollum, who co-wrote the song with Randy Montana, has even more of a heart for this song as it’s skyrocketed him to success throughout the difficulties in 2020.

“To have this song really and truly succeed on big time radio is a dream come true,” Parker said in a recent press release. “And for it to happen during such an insanely crazy year makes it just that much more special.”

He even went to social media to acknowledge the big moment, calling upon genuine artistry as the star of his success.

“We did it y’all! Just a kid from Conroe, TX who dreamed about playing country music now has the #1 song in the country this week! No beer songs or dirt roads or trucks or nothin. Just honest songwriting. We did it our way! Best fans in the world made it happen! THANK YOU,” McCollum tweeted.

Like many musicians who come to Nashville hoping to make it big, McCollum had worked hard to make his aspirations a reality.

“The end-all goal really was to come to Nashville and sign a major record label deal and try to go play country music on the biggest level. Exactly how I envisioned it when I was a teenager, 16, 17 years old, it’s gone identical to that dream,” he previously said in an interview. “To say I’m lucky and blessed is an understatement.”

Fans can check out “Pretty Heart,” which is featured on McCollum’s EP, Hollywood Gold, now.
