Hear Parker McCollum Contemplate a Breakup in ‘Pretty Heart’
The rising country star laments over breaking someone's heart in his wistful breakup anthem.
After self-releasing two albums, budding singer and songwriter Parker McCollum is back with his first single in over a year, “Pretty Heart.”
“I’m the one who dropped the ball, got you high and let you fall,” McCollum sings over a slow-burning beat and somber melody, reflecting on what he did wrong in a past relationship. He then transitions into a beautifully wistful chorus, lamenting over and coming to terms with the fact that he broke someone’s heart.
The breakup anthem is his first release since signing with MCA Nashville, and McCollum co-wrote the track with Randy Montana while GRAMMY winner Jon Randall served as the producer.
“It’s been a while since I’ve put new music out,” the Texas native shared. “’Pretty Heart’ is for everyone who has ever come out to support us on the road, listened to and shared my music. All I have ever wanted is to write country songs and sing country music, and I’m excited for the opportunity to expose even more folks to my music.”
McCollum is currently on the road playing shows throughout the US with stops in cities including Athens, Georgia, Baton Rouge, Louisiana and Chicago, Illinois. Ticket information can be found here.
