Parker McCollum Shares Details of Proposal to Girlfriend Hallie Rae Light
This sounds so romantic!
On top of opening up for Dierks Bentley on his 2021 Beers On Me Tour, Parker McCollum will have wedding planning keeping him busy over the next few months. The “To Be Loved By You” artist who announced his engagement to girlfriend Hallie Rae Light on Instagram on July 1 shares details of the proposal.
“…I think she had probably you know, assumed that it was going to happen at some point this year, but she had no idea it was going to be that night…” shares McCollum during an interview with Sounds Like Nashville.
“She has my calendar, so she can always kind of plan our stuff and know when I have time off and don’t,” he explains. “And so they [my team] put a little thing in my calendar that said we had a label dinner to go to and her family and my family flew in the day before and you know she had no idea they were here.”
The event was truly a family effort, with McCollum’s sister helping pull off the proposal with both his and Light’s families showing up to celebrate. “My sister is an event planner so she planned the entire thing, I did nothing, which was truly great, because I’ve just been balls to the wall busy. So she really saved my butt on that one…” tells McCollum. “She thought we were walking into a dinner with everybody at the record label and [we] walk in, the soft music’s playing and I don’t even remember what I said, I was so damn nervous. And I asked her to marry me and she said ‘yes’…our families came down from the little balcony area. It was cool. It went off without a hitch.”
McCollum says the couple is planning to get married this upcoming spring.
