‘People Country’ Names Keith Urban Country’s Hottest Guy

People Country names Keith Urban “Country’s Hottest Guy” among the many sexy men of Nashville who make fans swoon. This latest newsstand-only issue, which is dedicated to the country music scene and lifestyle, goes on sale April 1st and is the first of four People Country issues published in 2011. Included are perennial favorites Tim McGraw (Bad boy. Good man. What else is there to say?), Kenny Chesney (He’s all about good times!), and Brad Paisley (He’s smart, he’s funny, and we think he’s totally hot…but he says he’s totally not!), plus many more Country hotties.

People Country’s cover guy Keith Urban, 43, has clearly gone through some successful transformations. The three-time Grammy winner, long renowned as one of Nashville’s best guitarists, has also established himself as one of country music’s premiere entertainers, selling more than 10 million albums, racking up 11 No. 1 hits, and packing arenas from Canada to his native Australia.

Even as he gears up for a world tour promoting his latest album, Get Closer, Urban is undeniably most proud of his accomplishments at home, as a devoted husband to his wife of four years, Oscar winning actress Nicole Kidman, and father to his young daughters, 2-year-old Sunday Rose and 2-month-old Faith Margaret. “I’ve finally just found the right everything,” he tells People Country. “The woman I’m supposed to be with and the family that I never really was sure was going to happen. For it to come later in life has been a blessing for me.”

Home for Urban and his family is a 36-acre farm just outside of Nashville where he relishes their world away from the spotlight. “We do normal things like go to the grocery store and movies and take our girl to school in the mornings; it’s really nice,” says the singer, who is frequently spotted at Starbucks or Whole Foods with his girls by his side. “Family is definitely a priority in Nashville. And that fits us perfectly.” He adds, “Nic prioritizes our marriage and puts it first; she’ll drop anything. And I do the exact same thing,” he explains. “You’ve got to both be in it. Because if you’re not, it’s just not going to work.”

Looking back, he swears he wouldn’t change a thing for the world. “For me, it’s got to be forward. I heard someone say, ‘Forgiveness is letting go of the idea that you could have had a different past.’ And I love that,” he says. “I love where I am today. I wouldn’t want to upset anything in the path on the way to here.”

Six-foot-five Blake Shelton, whom People Country names “Hottest Groom-to-Be,” admits, “I’ve got to do whatever I can to look decent” in preparation for his upcoming wedding to Miranda Lambert. “That’s the mode I’ve been in lately” I better start getting in shape and maybe even get a haircut for this thing!” Meanwhile, “Hottest Dad” Josh Turner, 33, jokes that it’s a welcome surprise to make anyone’s hot guy list: “I sure as heck don’t feel as attractive now that I have three boys!” he says of Hampton, 4 , Colby, 21 months, and Marion, 3 months. “I miss out on sleep, and with diapering and feeding, I feel like they’re putting a lot of gray hairs on my head.” Baritone crooner Chris Young, 25, who dropped 30 lbs. from his 6’4” frame and tried out a new do for his thick curls while recording his upcoming Neon album, landed “Hottest Makeover” honors. But, “My music sounds the same, hat or not,” he says. “Hottest Newcomers” include Frankie Ballard (Who’d let the “Tell Me You Get Lonely” singer ever get lonely?), Walker Hayes, (He showed off his sense of humor with his debut single “Pants”), Brett Eldredge (He touched hearts with his sweet debut single “Raymond”), and Brantley Gilbert (He wrote Jason Aldean’s “My Kinda Party”; we want to celebrate!)

Much more on Keith Urban plus photos of all of “Country’s Hottest Guys” appear in the May 2011 issue of PEOPLE Country, which hits newsstands nationwide on Friday, April 1st.
