Carrie Underwood kicked off the first night of her first-ever Las Vegas residency last night (December 1), debuting an eye-popping show full of theatrical thrills. The night also happened to be the grand opening of Resorts World Theatre, where her new show is hosted, and the country superstar has shared some incredible photos from the experience.

Dubbed REFLECTION: The Las Vegas Residency, Underwood’s show makes her the first artist to appear on what is now the largest and tallest stage in Las Vegas — but still an “intimate venue” by her standards. Some 5,000 fans were in attendance and never more than 150 feet from the vocal icon, as she revisited her biggest hits with “spectacular special effects and state-of-the-art technology.”

Breathing new life into songs from “Jesus, Take the Wheel” to “Before He Cheats,” “Blown Away” to “Last Name,” “Two Black Cadillacs” and more, the show features multiple costume changes and all the immersive set pieces of a Broadway musical. According to Underwood, it’s all been a long time in the making, and the first night was such a success that more shows have been added to her calendar.

“It’s such a special honor to be the first artist to perform on this incredible stage in a brand new, beautiful, state-of-the-art theatre at such an exciting new destination as Resorts World Las Vegas,” she says in a prepared statement. “I’m so proud of this show and so happy to finally get to share it with the amazing audiences here in Las Vegas.”
