In the midst of her Beautiful Trauma tour, Pink took the opportunity to surprise fans at her show in New York City’s Madison Square Garden by inviting powerhouse vocalist Chris Stapleton for a duet.

The two collaborated on “Love Me Anyway,” a song featured on the Pink’s new album, Hurts 2B Human, and it has quickly become a fan favorite among listeners.

The song begins with a solo Pink standing near a piano, with a giant spotlight overhead. As she sings the song into the second verse, Stapleton, donning all black, makes his way onstage to join her for the remainder of the song. Pink, much like the fans, was overwhelmed by the surprise appearance, as she jokingly fainted onstage.

“Tonight. Madison Square Garden. One of my absolute favorite songwriters, favorite voice, and person. Chris Stapleton. What an absolute honor to share a stage with you my friend. ‘Love me Anyway’” wrote Pink in a post on Instagram with a photo from their duet.

Pink co-wrote the song with Allen Shamblin and Thomas Douglas.

The collaboration marks her second time in recent years to collaborate with a country powerhouse. She previously joined forces with Kenny Chesney for his No.1 smash, “Setting The World On Fire.” Stapleton, too, has crossed genre lines having recorded a song for Justin Timberlake’s Man of the Woods album.
