Possessionista Recaps Fashion at ‘The 46th Annual CMA Awards’

Once again, we’ve called upon our favorite fashion blogger, Possessionista, to give us a run-down of the fashion at the CMA Awards! See what she had to say about the evening’s hit (and misses!) below…

Well, it’s that time of year again folks, where we trade in our sneakers for sequins and sit around calling each other “y’all” and pretending we’re just happy to be nominated.

I’m referring to, of course, the annual Country Music awards where everyone pretends they’re ladies and gentlemen instead of beer bottle drinking, car-keying ex-girlfriends.

And if I were to have to describe this year’s CMA fashion in one word, it would be eclectic. From sequins and sparkles to subtle and subdued, Country Music’s hottest fashionionistas brought everything to the red carpet.

Black is the New Black: The Band Perry’s Kimberly Perry, newcomer Jana Kramer, and Faith Hill all looked sleek and simple in black gowns. Their classic silhouettes and toned down accessories were just right for the formal evening, and we love how Jana brought a little rock and roll to the country music event.

Fashion Idols: American Idol alums Lauren Alaina, Kellie Pickler and Carrie Underwood all opted for soft, feminine gowns to grace the red carpet. Who says Reality TV never created stars? Plus we just love how Pickler is owning her blunt cut. We’d be lucky to have her as friend. She’s really our American Idol.

Golden Girls: Miranda Lambert and Little Big Town’s Karen Fairchild and Kimberly Schlapman both walked away with awards, but all of these women, including “Nashville’s” Kimberly Williams-Paisley, looked more like Oscars in their golden gowns. And, Miranda, we love you, but this dress was a little too Madonna during her cone phase.

Carrie Underwood style

Nights in White Satin: These TV darlings joined host Carrie Underwood in striking white. We’re not loving Lucy Hale’s floor length gown, but it looks like Hayden Panettiere has picked up a thing or two on the set of “Nashville.” She’s our pick for most interesting look of the night.

Who were your favorite (and least favorite) looks from the “The 46th Annual CMA Awards?” Leave it in the comments below. And for a rundown of all of Carrie Underwood’s looks from the CMAs, visit www.possessionista.com.
