Producer and Songwriter Cowboy Jack Clement Dies at Age 82

“Cowboy” Jack Clement passed away on Thursday (8/8) at his home in Nashville at the age of 82. The Country Music Hall of Fame inductee-elect died after a long battle to liver cancer.

Cowboy Jack was a well-known producer and songwriter in Music City. As a producer, Clement worked with several legends including Johnny Cash, Charley Pride, Waylon Jennings, Eddy Arnold, and Emmylou Harris (just to name a few). His songwriting credits include tracks recorded by Bobby Bare, Dolly Parton, and Tom Jones (among others).

Cowboy Jack is survived by two children. His induction into the Country Music Hall of Fame is set for this fall.
