RaeLynn Confirms Wedding Date, Reveals That Blake Shelton Will Host Engagement Party
RaeLynn is in full-on wedding planning mode! One thing she won't have to worry about? Planning an engagement party.
RaeLynn is hearing wedding bells as her nuptials are quickly approaching.
The country cutie revealed to PEOPLE on the red carpet at the 2015 CMT Artist of the Year that she’s set to tie the knot in early 2016…. February 27, to be exact!
“It’s a lot of things, like, there’s a lot of details. Like, every fork, every napkin, everything has to be accounted for,” the “For A Boy” singer told the publication. “So, I didn’t know that, so I’m like, you know, miss let’s-do-it-two-weeks-before, but not my mother. But it’s been awesome. We got the venue, we got the band, we got the deejay, we’ve got most of it. We got the preacher to marry us, thank God. It’s all coming together. We just gotta get the invitations out.”
Sounds Like Nashville caught up with the Texas native as she was dress shopping for the CMA Awards red carpet to talk about another kind of dress shopping… wedding dress shopping! “I’m gonna be going to dress shop with all of my family, which is going to be out of control because I have a lot of sisters, a lot of cousins, with lots of opinions, and my mother, so it’s going to be an eventful day,” she told us. “But it’s going to be so much fun and hopefully I’ll find a dress to say yes to.”
Thankfully for RaeLynn, an engagement party is not something she will have to worry about, and that’s all due to help from her The Voice coach, Blake Shelton.
“It’s just so awesome, you know? He’s throwing me and Josh a party for our engagement. We’re so excited about it. We’re gonna have a blast. He’s just so involved and just an amazing person to just look up to.” As for the engagement party theme? Rae has an idea in mind… “I really want it to be Ugly Christmas Sweater themed.”
RaeLynn and Josh Davis got engaged on October 12, when Josh took her on a scavenger hunt around Nashville and popped the question on the campus of Belmont University. “OMG I’m getting married!” RaeLynn gushed to Us Weekly at the time. “My life has been so crazy with my singing career and traveling and being 21, but you can’t plan when you’re gonna meet ‘the one.’ When it’s right, you just have to go with it.”
