RaeLynn and Husband Josh Davis Expecting First Child
This is so sweet!
“God Made Girls” singer RaeLynn is excited to share some big news – she’s pregnant! The singer and her husband Josh Davis are expecting their first child together this September. The news was shared in an interview with PEOPLE, where the singer also announced the little one will be a girl.
“I for sure thought I was having a boy — I don’t know why; I just did. Josh’s gut feeling the whole time was a girl, so he was right for sure. I didn’t care either way, though,” the mom-to-be shared. “I should have known with my debut song ‘God Made Girls’ that God would give me a girl first!”
The announcement comes on RaeLynn’s 27th birthday – though she’s already more than halfway through her pregnancy.
“Every year is special in its own way, but what’s going to make my 27th year so special on this earth is that I get to be a momma to a beautiful baby girl,” she explained. “So that’s why I wanted to wait because it’s the best birthday present!”
For RaeLynn, pregnancy has been a dream come true, but she’s had to keep up with managing her Type 1 diabetes.
“The main worry I had was managing my diabetes while carrying a baby,” she shared. “I’ve been so fortunate to have an amazing care team that has me on the best regimen. My diabetes and A1C has never been better than it is now.”
The couple has also already agreed on a name for their baby girl, but is keeping it under wraps for now.
In the meantime, RaeLynn has turned to some of her close friends for parenting advice, including Kane Brown’s wife Katelyn (the couple has a daughter Kingsley).
“Katelyn [Brown] was the first friend I told outside of my family and she cried with me because it’s been a dream of mine for a while to be a mama,” said RaeLynn. “She has been such a light for me during this process. She and Summer Pardi have become some of my rocks during this quarantine year. I told Maren [Morris] and she was so excited! I honestly have been so fortunate to have had so many amazing women — Lauren Lane, Brittany Aldean, Hayley Hubbard — help me with tips on what I’ll really need. I’m a pretty lucky girl.”
RaeLynn and Davis tied the knot in February 2016 in front of 300 guests in Franklin, TN (a suburb of Nashville). Guests at the wedding included Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani. The songstress released her Baytown EP in 2020 and is working on the follow-up project and lead single for later this year.
