Randy Houser & Pat Green – Tampa, FL

Last night was our third show of this road trip adventure and we had the chance to take in Tampa, FL’s stop of the Jagermeister tour featuring Randy Houser and Pat Green at the Dallas Bull.

Cowboy Troy was also in attendance to open up the show. His attempts at getting the crowd pumped up seemed to fail. He was enjoying his performance, but there was no connection between him and the crowd. The best 5 minutes of his set came at the very end, when the low-energy crowd came to life with his performance of “I Play Chicken With The Train.”

We were pleasantly pleased with Randy Houser! We have been promoting Randy here on the site for quite a while now and we both love his album, so we were excited to see those songs come to life in person. We had the chance to chat with Randy before the show and he was very nice – laid back, socialable, and funny!

We already knew that the music would be good, but what really pulled us in was Randy’s personality and his connection to the crowd. Remember Randy’s LOL video?! Well, that video doesn’t even do his laugh justice – Randy was laughing and cutting up during his entire set and having a great time interacting with the crowd. As funny as he was, his personality wasn’t the only the thing that the crowd loved – they seemed to love his entire set! The crowd sang along with his debut hit, “Anything Goes,” his current single, “Boots On,” and really enjoyed other songs including “Back To God,” “My Kind Of Country,” and a brand new one called “Whistling Dixie.” That song is yet to be recorded, but Randy assured the crowd that it will be on his next album which he’ll be heading into the studio to record in June.

Pat Green took the stage for his high-energy set and he did not disappoint! Just like Randy, Pat has a great personality and uses that to get the crowd laughing and really into the show. Before the crowd maximized their full energy potential, he did his job of raising the fun factor. He joked, sat down on stage, laid down on stage and took shots of Jagermeister to loosen up! Pat belted out a good mix of old favorites and new songs from his current album. Since you know we are loving the new album, we really enjoyed hearing “What I’m For,” “Footsteps Of Our Fathers,” “Lucky,” and the single that just cracked the top 40, “Country Star.” Other Pat favorites that the crowd really got into were “3 Days,” “Baby Doll,” “Feels Just Like It Should,” and the final song of the night and a big hit for Pat back in 2003, “Wave On Wave.”

(Randy & Pat both “supported” the tour sponsor during the show!)

Pat & Randy still have a handful of dates left on this Jagermeister tour – click HERE to see if they’re coming to your city. It’s a night filled with great music from two guys who make it known that they simply love performing music for the fans.

The fun isn’t over. We are going to see Montgomery Gentry tonight, so check back tomorrow for the 4th and final set of pics and a review from our spring break road trip!
