Randy Travis remains in critical condition as he battles congestive heart failure and recovers from brain surgery following a stroke he suffered while in a Texas hospital this week.

As the Country music community continues to pray for a full recovery, Travis is surrounded by family and friends, including Nancy Jones, the widow of legend George Jones, who passed away earlier this year. Nancy flew to Plano, Texas to be by Travis’ side. Nancy even played Travis some classic George Jones hits in his hospital room.

“Randy and George Jones were good friends,” Nancy Jones said in an email to The Associated Press. “When I was dealing with George’s issues a few months ago, both Randy and Mary were right there for me. I had to get on a plane and come see him. I love him and I know that George is looking over him during this time.”

Travis’ fiancé Mary Beougher, brother Dennis Traywick, and pastor Jeff Perry, are also by his side.

Kenny Rogers, The Oak Ridge Boys, Chuck Norris, Lyle Lovett, Ray Price and several others have reportedly called to check in on Travis throughout the week.
