Rascal Flatts Admits To Lip-Syncing During ACM Awards Performance

Rascal Flatts took the stage at “The 49th Annual Academy of Country Music Awards” to perform their current hit single, “Rewind.” After the first note hit, fans immediately began to question whether or not Gary LeVox, Jay DeMarcus and Joe Don Rooney were actually singing live because they appeared to be lip-syncing. Following their performance, social media began to blow up with comments about the Flatts and their apparent lip-syncing.

The trio took to Twitter on Monday evening to own up to the accusations, admitting that they did in fact lip-sync.

“After having performed several shows earlier in the week, Gary lost his voice. So, instead of canceling our commitment to do the show, we made a last minute decision to lip-sync,” the trio wrote. “We’ve never done it before, and we’re obviously not very good at it. We look forward to singing live again in the very near future!”

Fans can catch Rascal Flatts performing live this weekend in Laughlin, Nevada.
