The country band has mad love for the enthusiasm that their special guests Kelsea Ballerini and Chris Lane had every night while out on tour together.

Although the Rhythm & Roots Tour is now long over, Rascal Flatts took some lessons they learned from their opening acts with them for future tours up ahead.

While the guys of Rascal Flatts wouldn’t want to change positions with their special road guests Kelsea Ballerini or Chris Lane, they realized how grateful they are for all of the opportunities they’ve had thus far in their career and they understand the huge amount of hard work they put into their music in order to get them to the position they are in now.

Nevertheless, the country band appreciates the enthusiasm that both Ballerini and Lane had for every single performance they put out to their fans while out on the road this summer.

“I think, I’ve learned to appreciate where we are in life a little bit more,” said band member Jay DeMarcus. “I mean that to say they’ve got such a wide-eyed, thrilled to be here kind of excitement every single night. And after years of being on the road and doing this, it can become mundane sometimes. You come to the same sheds, you go to the same cities. One of the great things is to see how genuinely pumped up they are about being here. It’s renewed my energy and my excitement for being here too.”

Joe Don Rooney agreed with DeMarcus about how thrilled the newcomers are to be able to do what they love for a living every single night and how contagious that feeling can be.

“They’re hungry though. I think it’s amazing. It’s beautiful to see that hunger and that joy that they’re having. It’s amazing; every night their band guys and Chris and his band guys go out front and watch our shows every single night. It’s so neat to see them down there in the pit like rockin’ out. It’s just so cool. Their energy that they’ve brought to the tour has been great.”

After finishing up some shows in the month of October, Rascal Flatts will end off the year with the release of their first-ever Christmas record, The Greatest Gift of All. The holiday album will be available on October 21.
