Rascal Flatts’ ‘Riot’ May Deceive You
Rascal Flatts is back at country radio with a brand new single. The song, entitled “Riot,” is from the trio’s latest album, Rewind.
Before you listen to “Riot,” you may think you’re about to hear an up-beat party anthem, but once you hear the first few notes, you’re blindsided by a powerful ballad. It turns out, that was one of things Rascal Flatts’ Jay DeMarcus liked most about the song.
“Most people might see the title ‘Riot’ and assume that it’s a rousing up-tempo song,” DeMarcus says. “It’s actually a ballad, which I find really, really great because it hits you unexpectedly and it deals with a very familiar subject matter of loss and heartbreak.”
DeMarcus also appreciates that the tune creates a visual for the listener. “It is a wonderful, powerful, brutally beautiful picture to paint, and this song does it perfectly,” he shares.
