Reba took a break from her tour with Lee Ann Womack and George Strait yesterday to cheer on her son, Shelby, at Daytona International Speedway as he raced in the Continental Tire Challenge Grand-Am 200.
Shelby just picked up racing in the last few months so Reba’s gotten a crash-course in the sport. Speaking to reporters before the race, Reba said “It’s kind of like 101 race time for Reba. It’s been very fun and very exciting for me. I’m having a real good time with it.”

Although Shelby hasn’t followed in his mom’s musical footsteps, Reba couldn’t be more excited for Shelby’s new affection. “I’m very happy that he’s racing because that’s his passion,” she said. “I can understand the excitement of the race business. I’m from a rodeo family. The scare tactics and everything are very similar in rodeo. The adrenaline does flow very fast, but I’m used to that.”
Prior to the race Reba tweeted “Watching Shelby race today. Everyone please say special prayers for the safety of him and everyone on the track.”
After Shelby’s race in Daytona, Reba headed over to Jacksonville to perform as part of the current tour.
