Though much of the world has been locked up for several months due to the coronavirus pandemic, many new love stories have blossomed during these times. One of which is Reba McEntire’s new relationship, which began at the top of the year and has continued despite the ongoing Covid challenges.

During her Living & Learning with Reba McEntire podcast, the country icon and this year’s CMA Awards co-host revealed that she’s been dating an actor named Rex Linn throughout the course of the lockdown.

“Yeah. Yeah, I am. A very, very sweetheart of a guy, Rex Linn,” shared McEntire when her co-host and former co-star Melissa Peterman asked if she was dating someone. “And we’ve been talking during the pandemic. We had dinner with Rex, was it in January?…And then February on it was the COVID pandemic and we were talking, texting, FaceTime. And that’s a really good way to get to know people.

“It’s good to have a person to talk to, laugh with, get into subjects about what’s going on,” she continued. “Discussions about our past, our family, funny stories, him being an actor, me being an actress. And he’s very into my music. I’m very into his career. It’s just great getting to talk to somebody who I find very interesting, very funny, very smart, and is interested in me, too.”

Later, she commented that because the episode was called “Dating,” she felt it appropriate to reveal her big life update as she thinks Linn would have done the same if the situation was reversed.

Fans may recognize Linn from his acting roles in Rush Hour, Better Call Saul, Young Sheldon, Wyatt Earp and more.

Reba’s dating news comes on the heels of the Country Music Association’s announcement that she would return as host of the upcoming 54th Annual CMA Awards and will be joined by first-time host Darius Rucker. The show is scheduled for November 11 in Nashville, TN.
