Once a year, Las Vegas, Nevada is taken over by country music artists and fans for the Academy of Country Music (ACM) Awards, with each year proving to be bigger and better than the last. This year was certainly no exception. In a partnership with Ram Trucks, we were given the opportunity to experience the ACMs first hand, and take in all this music-filled weekend has to offer.

Upon arrival, and after fighting through the crowds of fans waiting to catch a glimpse of their favorite star, we made our way to the House of Blues for an exclusive Ram Trucks Live Twitter Q& A with “Roll With It” singer Easton Corbin. A laid back Easton answered questions from fans, ranging from his favorite song to sing (a new song called “Somebody Loves You” on his upcoming album) to his favorite restaurant in Nashville (It’s Jack’s BBQ!) He also stated that if he wasn’t in music, he would love to pursue an agricultural career, as he is an avid supporter of the Future Farmers of America (FFA) and the Ram Trucks Year of the Farmer campaign. Following the Q&A, Easton performed a private concert for Ram and their guests, sharing both some new and old tunes, and promoting his soon-to-be released new album.

On Saturday, the on-going Party For A Cause Festival rocked on for its third day at The LINQ entertainment and shopping plaza on the Las Vegas Strip. This lively festival featured, food and merchandise vendors, 2 concert stages and, most importantly, the undeniably fun Ram Trucks Ride and Drive course, where fans lined up to take a spin in a Ram 1500 and test out the durability, comfort and key features that make a Ram truck stand out from the rest. After their test drive, participants were rewarded with giveaways and the opportunity for some hang time with Easton Corbin, as well as country hit-maker Randy Houser, who both spent time at the Ram booth signing autographs, taking photos, and interacting with fans.

By Sunday, ACM Awards day was upon us and we couldn’t be more excited! There was an indescribable buzz in the air all around town—artists were getting gussied up for the red carpet, and fans were anxiously awaiting not only the show, but also the Fan Jam at Mandalay Bay, which is where we enjoyed the ACM festivities. The live ACM Awards broadcast was shown on large screens around the arena, and a few of the live performances took place on site. The crowd was electric throughout, but even more so upon the announcement of the ACM Entertainer of the Year Award, powered by Ram Trucks and presented to the legendary George Strait. It was also revealed that next year marks the 50th Anniversary of the ACM Awards, and that the city of Dallas would play host to the weekend in 2015.

The way that country music creates such a strong, family-like connection between its artists and fans never ceases to amaze me, and ACMs weekend is a perfect example of how people can come together for the love of the genre. I am so grateful to have had this amazing opportunity…Thank you Ram Trucks!
