Recap: Randy Houser ‘Twitter-View’

We had the chance to do a “Twitter-View” with Randy Houser last night! Here’s a recap, in case you missed it!

CMIL: Hey Randy, thanks so much for joining us! Let us know when you’re there & ready to get started.

RH: Hey there @cmilove! Let’s get it going! Looking forward to it.

CMIL: What can fans expect from ‘They Call Me Cadillac’ that they may not have heard on ‘Anything Goes’?

RH: New songs! Completely different songs than were on “Anything Goes”. Ha!

CMIL: Very True 🙂 So fans can still expect the same sound from you on this new record then?

RH: Still the same me! If you dug the first record you’ll find something to love on Cadillac.

CMIL: Speaking of new songs, do you have a particular favorite song on the album?

RH: I don’t have a particular favorite song. Any one of them can be my favorite at different times…It depends on my mood & what type of song I want to hear at the time. Could be time to party, or could be time to chill.

CMIL: My current favorite song is “Here With Me”- It’s SO good!!

RH: Glad you like it! “Here With Me” is one of my favorites too.

CMIL: You just performed on ‘Good Morning America’ yesterday and will perform on ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live’ next week…Do you feel a certain sense of responsibility or pressure when representing country music on national television?

RH: I feel a huge responsibility when representing Country Music on national television. As I watch many of the performances on late night TV & awards shows,I get the feeling that the acts are more into building a spectacle rather than sounding good. I understand that visually, things have to be exciting for today’s audiences. But, I grew up listening and watching artists who sang a song and you felt “that”. That’s what I want to convey.

CMIL: With so many new fall album releases, how would you convince a fan to buy yours?

RH: I would just have to let fans know that for every album unsold, one puppy is put to sleep in a shelter. The point, buy my album and then go adopt a dog. Kidding, but please go do both ha.

CMIL: Haha! Speaking of dogs…How is your new dog, Dolly Parton?

RH: Well as you may have heard, she is the third adoption dog in our family, so, if you don’t buy my album, she may have to be put to sleep. Kidding! She’s awesome! Actually, she’s weird and whines all night, but very cute.

CMIL: aww, gotta love our pups! So…What’s your favorite thing to do when you’re off the road?

RH: Get back on the road again!

CMIL: Well, that’s a good thing, right?! 🙂 Enjoy being on the road with Gary Allan & Jerrod Niemann- that’s a must see show! You wrote or co-wrote all 11 songs on the album… what influences your songwriting?

RH: What influences my songwriting has changed over the years. There was a time when I churned out songs all the time trying to make a living by having other people record them and turn them into hits. These days I don’t have time to write unless I know I’m writing about “my” life.

CMIL: I definitely see that with this record… “Will I Always Be This Way” sounds like it’s coming straight from YOU.

RH: Thanks! That’s another favorite!

CMIL: Thanks for taking the time to chat with us today! Have a great night 🙂 We can’t wait to see you on the road!

RH: No problem! Thanks for chatting back. Glad you are enjoying the record! Come on out to a show sometime.
