It was all about the songs at the 53rd Annual ASCAP Country Music Awards, held at Nashville’s Omni Hotel Monday night (Nov. 2). The ceremony honored the year’s biggest songs, as well as the legendary Trisha Yearwood, who took home ASCAP’s Voice of Music Award during the invite-only show.

Sam Hunt took home top honors, winning Song of the Year for “Leave The Night On” and the prestigious Songwriter/Artist of the Year award.

Also honored during the ceremony was Ashley Gorley, who was named Country Music Songwriter of the Year for the second year in a row.

Prior to the ceremony, Sounds Like Nashville caught up with artists such as Lady Antebellum’s Charles Kelley and Dave Haywood, Chuck Wicks, David Nail, Kelsea Ballerini, and many more. Check out all the fun from the red carpet in our exclusive video below.
