Rhapsody Rocks The CMT Music Awards
Last night I had the opportunity to attend the “Rhapsody Rocks The CMT Music Awards” concert at The Rutledge in downtown Nashville. Caitlin & Will, Gloriana, Luke Bryan, and Jack Ingram took the stage to get fans pumped up for the 2009 CMT Music Awards.
Caitlin & Will took the stage first. The more I see of them, the more I like them. Their song “Even Now” has become one of my favorite songs. Everyone in the audience seemed to enjoy their set, especially when they sang their version of Keith Urban’s “Stupid Boy.”
Next up was the hot new group Gloriana. Their debut single “Wild At Heart” is burning up the charts! It’s already at No. 19 on Billboard’s Hot country Songs Chart! If you’re an avid CMIL reader, you already know that we absolutley love Gloriana’s music. Not only are they entertaining, their songs are great, and they are very talented.
The crowd went wild for Luke Bryan- the energy seemed to explode as he and the band took the stage! We were treated to a few brand new tracks from Luke’s sophomore album, Doin’ My Thing, which is set to hit stores in October. He sang the title track, “Doin My Thing,” “Rain,” “Everytime I See You” and a few others. We were also treated to another stellar performance of his latest single, “Do I.” Hearing him sing the new tracks makes me really excited for the upcoming album release!
Toward the end of Luke’s set, Blake Shelton came out on stage to deliver Luke a Miller Lite! The crowd was very surprised the see him! After playing “bartender,” Blake joined his girlfriend Miranda Lambert in the outside bar area for a few drinks. After that, the couple headed inside to watch Jack Ingram’s show.
As Jack Ingram took the stage, he immediately reached out to the audience to get them involved in his set. He asked everyone to move closer to the stage and sing along. He sang “Barbie Doll,” “Measure Of A Man,” “Love You,” and more. The highlight of the night was his performance of “Barefoot & Crazy.” It was such a great, fun summer song! Everyone was dancing & singing along.
It was another great night of live music here in Music City! After each act left the stage, they took time to do a meet & greet with the fans.
