Rhett Akins and Wife Welcome Baby Boy, Brody James

ACM Songwriter of the Year Rhett Akins is a dad once again after he and his wife Sonya welcomed a baby boy. Brody James arrived on March 13, much to his parent’s excitement.
“Friday the 13th is a pretty magical day. Our little angel arrived at 7:49 p.m. weighing 7.2lbs and 19 inches. He is perfect in every way!!!! Welcome Brody James Akins,” Sonya wrote on Instagram with photos of her sleeping baby.
Sonya hasn’t been shy in sharing photos of her precious newborn with the world, adding several photos just days later of Brody.
“My heart is about to explode!! I’m so in love with our sweet baby boy,” she wrote. “Thank you lord for this precious gift that you have given our family!!
In the photos Brody is wearing an adorable striped onesie with his initials monogrammed across his chest. She also shared several sweet portraits of her and Rhett snuggling their little one.
Brody’s arrival marks the couple’s first child together. Rhett is also the dad to country superstar Thomas Rhett, and a daughter, Kasey Lee. The songwriter’s son also marks the latest additon to the Akins family as Thomas and his wife Lauren recently welcomed a baby girl named Lennon Love in February.
Rhett and Sonya wed in September 2017.
