Rodney Atkins And Rose Falcon Learn About Each Other Through Songwriting

Rodney Atkins and his wife, fellow artist Rose Falcon, are not only a great love match, but it turns out the couple is also a match when it comes to songwriting. While Atkins says it took a little while for their writing styles to flow, they eventually developed strong songwriting chemistry.

“It was tough when we first started writing,” says Atkins. “I wanted every song to be the greatest song of all time and she just said, ‘We just have to finish a freaking song.’ We’ve learned each others strengths and now it’s crazy, man, she knows what I’m thinking before I get there. I definitely think that I’m writing better than I ever have because of her.”

In addition to being able to create great songs together, Falcon says their differing songwriting styles have taught her better ways to write a song, as well as taught them more about each other.

“I’ve learned so much by writing with him,” says Falcon. “I’ve written some of the best songs I’ve ever written.

“He is just the hardest worker that I’ve ever met,” she continues. “He just taught me perseverance and not to give up on something. He can take apart a song and that’s hard for me. Once it’s done I want to be done but he’s taught me to keep pushing through and that it’s worth it in the end. So, I have learned so much.”

Fans can find two songs co-written by the couple, “My Life” and “Young Man,” on Atkins’ latest album, Caught Up In The Country.
