Last night Crown Royal, along with NASCAR driver Matt Kenseth and Country Star Rodney Atkins, revealed that Atkins will perform a song from Daytona International Speedway in February 2011 to reveal the winner of this year's Crown Royal “Your Name Here” program. The annual program awards naming rights to the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race from Richmond International Raceway on April 30, 2011 to an adult serviceman or servicewoman.
“It’s purely about honoring what these soldiers and their families go through for our security, our safety, and our freedoms,” Atkins tells CountryMusicIsLove.
This marks the second time throughout the five-year history of the Crown Royal “Your Name Here” 400 contest that only individuals serving our country can be nominated. Nominations will be accepted from now until Nov. 30th and can be submitted HERE.
We had a chance to chat with Rodney about his involvement with the program yesterday. Stay tuned to CountryMusicIsLove.com to hear our full interview with him.
