Ronnie Dunn got himself into somewhat of a pickle recently when he was ticketed for driving through an undesignated area in Death Valley. The singer detailed the incident in a post on Facebook with an underlying humorous tone behind it.

“I had a three day break between shows at Caesars Palace. I’m a desert rat so I bolted for DEATH VALLEY with my cameras…didn’t realize it (my fault) and drove into an ‘Undesignated Area,’” he wrote on Facebook. “MANDATORY COURT DATE tbd !”

Dunn also shared photos from the incident, including one of him with his camera and tripod before the Officer showed up and one from after when he was asked to rake the rocks in the valley to cover up his tracks.

The “Damn Drunk” singer spent some time replying to fans on the post, while also adding some extra commentary of his own.

“I followed ANOTHER vehicle’s tracks in, that’s what confused me …..,” he wrote in one comment, with another reading, “Hmmm…I just read that the Parks are ramping up the enforcement game because recreational ATVs etc. are defacing our parks. Not that it matters but I wasn’t out there “doing donuts”. STILL, the law is the law. Officer Solomon meant business. If I had made a wrong move or popped off, in ANY way, I got the impression that he was cocked, locked and loaded.”

Fans also inquired if the officer was at least impressed that he was a famous country star, to which Dunn replied “Nah….he didn’t seem impressed,” with a smiley face emoji.

No word yet on when Dunn’s court date is scheduled, but we’re sure he won’t be going into any “undesignated areas” again soon.
