2020 has been anything but ordinary, and for many people, the holidays will look a bit different this year as well. Sam Hunt will fortunately get to see his family for Christmas, saying that he’s looking forward to taking some time off and spending the holidays with his wife, Hannah, and his family in Georgia.

“This year for Christmas, my wife and I are gonna head down to Georgia to spend some time with my parents and brothers,” he shared. “We got to spend Thanksgiving with some of Hannah’s family, but I haven’t really seen my parents and brothers in a little while so we’re gonna go down (and) I’m gonna try to take a little more time than I have these past couple of years over the break and try to make the most out of this last month of 2020.”

The reunion is special for Hunt, as he hasn’t spent much time at home this year due to the pandemic.

“I’m really looking forward to spending some time with my mom and dad, and this year I’ve tried to avoid going home as much as I would have in the past,” he continues. “So, I’m gonna quarantine with them for a couple weeks for Christmas and try to appreciate that time together and look forward to 2021.”

Hunt didn’t share what gifts he’ll be giving or receiving this year, but he did recall his favorite gift from his childhood: a horse.

“I remember being really excited when, I got into riding horses, and one Christmas I got a Mustang that I named Comanche – a horse – and that was a really exciting time,” he said. “I rode all the time after that.’
