Congratulations are in order for Sam Hunt! The GRAMMY-nominated singer is engaged, a source within his camp confirms to Sounds Like Nashville.
The singer recently popped the question to his on-again/off-again girlfriend Hannah Lee Fowler, who was the inspiration behind much of his Montevallo album and his brand new song, “Drinkin’ Too Much,” which was released just after midnight on January 1.
The extremely personal new song features lyrics like, “I’m sorry I named the album ‘Montevallo’ and I’m sorry people know your name now and strangers hit you up on social media. I’m sorry you can’t listen to the radio and drive out to the place we used to get peaches down in Pelham. I know you want your privacy and you’ve got nothing to say to me.” Hunt even name drops her toward the end of the song. “You changed your number and moved and this is the only way I can reach you,” he says. “Hannah Lee, I’m on my way to you.”
After the split, Hunt reunited with Fowler in the spring of 2016. As one who normally likes to keep his private life private, Hunt has not been shy about sharing photos of their adventures together, which have brought them to Hawaii, Israel, and beyond, on Instagram.
Congratulations to the happy couple!
