Sam Hunt broke many country fans’ hearts earlier this year when he announced his engagement to longtime on-again, off-again girlfriend Hannah Lee Fowler. Hunt proposed to Fowler during a trip to Israel late last year and before a recent performance at the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville, Tenn., the singer hinted that he may become a married man very soon.

Hunt took the famed stage at the Mother Church on Thursday (Feb. 23) during Country Radio Seminar 2017 as part of the Team UMG at the Ryman showcase. While his band settled on stools beside him center stage for their performance of new single “Body Like a Back Road,” he casually told the audience that wedding bells will be ringing “in a couple months.”

“I’m getting married in a couple months so between planning a wedding and keeping my fiancée smiling I’m trying to kick up some new music for y’all,” he said.

The singer will be headlining his 15 in a 30 Tour, which kicks off on June 1 and runs through the fall, so it is very likely he will be a married man by the time he hits the road.

Fowler was the inspiration behind much of Hunt’s debut album, Montevallo. She also was the muse behind “Drinkin’ Too Much,” a song he dropped shortly after midnight on Jan. 1 before news broke of the couple’s engagement. In the midst of writing for his sophomore album and planning a wedding and tour, Hunt’s 2017 calendar is quickly filling up.
