Sam Hunt and Kelsea Ballerini Ring in 2020 on National TV
2020 is off to a good start!
Country stars Sam Hunt and Kelsea Ballerini helped ring in 2020 on national TV this year, scoring high-profile performance spots on ABC’s Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve With Ryan Seacrest.
Perched on a confetti filled stage in the middle of New York City’s famous Times Square, Hunt used his time to spotlight a double dose of his country/hip hop hits, including the newly released “Kinfolks” and mega-hit “Body Like a Backroad.” The star followed up the performance by announcing a new single titled “Sinning With You” will be released Friday (January 3).
Meanwhile, Ballerini delivered two new tracks in a slightly warmer setting — welcoming the new year from Los Angeles. Ballerini’s sparkling performance of the newly-dropped “Club” and empowering single “homecoming queen?” were actually pre-taped, but the star made sure to shout out her “power-suit situation” before the show aired.
Other country stars taking part included Dan + Shay and Blanco Brown, while celebrations in Miami and New Orleans were also highlighted. Elsewhere, Keith Urban headlined a massive concert in Nashville which drew more than 200,000 fans.
