Sam Hunt Curates ‘Nashional Music Festival’ for Nashville

Sam Hunt took some time off in 2017 to get his act together, but all that vacation brought on was the creativity to create and curate his very own festival dubbed the Nashional Music Festival.

Blending artists from country, R&B, folk and many other genres, Hunt hoped to form a set of weekend gigs to show off the diversity between good music regardless of its definition. As a musician who pushes the boundaries within his own category, Hunt understands how all music influences others in each right.

“I wanted to create an experience at the Nashional that celebrates music, community, and everything they mean to each other and this city,” Hunt told Rolling Stone.

Setting the fest in the heart of downtown Nashville, Hunt also believed in letting Music City speak its truth for all kinds of acts who make their home around town. Shining a light upon the fact that Nashville isn’t just a country music hub left Hunt set on hosting the weekend where all forms of music cross over and people are proud of the art imagined here.

“The sense of community in Nashville helps give it the character and personality that makes me proud to be a part of it,” he continued.

Already announced for the two-day lineup includes Fetty Wap, Brothers Osborne, LANCO, Kyle, Judah & the Lion, Muscadine Bloodline and more yet to be announced. Hunt will, of course, lend his talents to nightly headlining shows as well when he plays host for the weekend.

Hunt will continue on his creative spree even later in the summer when he joins Luke Bryan and Co. for the What Makes You Country Tour. Running along as support beside Jon Pardi, Morgan Wallen and Carly Pearce, it seems like Hunt will be in for another mixture of sounds throughout the warmer months as well.

The Nashional Music Festival will be held at Bicentennial Capitol Mall State Park in Nashville on April 20 and 21. Tickets go on sale for the fest on Friday, February 9.
