Sara Evans – “The Sweet By And By”
Sara Evans is briefly turning her attention away from music to promote her new book The Sweet By And By. In an interview with The Tennessean, Sara confessed that writing the book gave her a focus during her highly-publicized divorce back in 2006. “It was a really good way for me to express myself and just get things out,” she said. “It was very hard for me to write songs at that time. I was just like, I can’t write anything happy; I can’t write anything sad; I’m just too blah. So writing this book, I was like, ‘Hey, I’ll get into this character, into her life, and forget about mine for a while.’ “
The book is co-authored by Rachel Hauck, and Sara explained their process of writing the book together. “I created this story and created the characters and just totally wrote how it was all going to be and what it was like, and she took it and put the melody to it.”
Sara will be at the Davis-Kidd bookstore in Nashville today autographing copies of the new book.
