Scotty McCreery Encourages Fans To Support St. Jude In Honor of Late Fan Club President

Today (10/9) is Scotty McCreery’s 22nd birthday, and in lieu of gifts, he’s asking for something very important.

The singer/songwriter is encouraging his fans to honor his late fan club president Sharon Eaves by donating to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, a cause near to her heart.

“I have many blessings in my life and I don’t need ‘things’ to celebrate my birthday,” said McCreery. “But I miss my friend Sharon, who would have had a birthday just yesterday if she was still with us. I’d love to see my fans honor her and continue her great work with St. Jude.”

Eaves, a music industry veteran and member of St. Jude’s Music Industry Advisory Council, passed away suddenly on Sept. 25. She has previously created the Southern Belles team to participate in the St. Jude Walk/Run to End Childhood Cancer in Nashville on Sept. 26. The team raised $4,000 and the donor link remains open through November.
