American Idol winner Scotty McCreery has parted ways with his record label Mercury Nashville.

“I enjoyed being on Mercury Nashville / Interscope, and I appreciate all the great people who worked hard on my behalf while I was there,” McCreery said in a statement to Sounds Like Nashville. “I am excited about what the future holds and the opportunities being presented to me.”

A UMG Nashville representative has also confirmed the news to Sounds Like Nashville.

Since joining the label in 2011, the North Carolina native has released two studio albums and one Christmas album. His most recent single, “Southern Belle,” peaked at No.45 on the Country Airplay charts.

No word on if McCreery’s album, featuring “Southern Belle,” will ever see the light of day.

The news comes just a day after Music Row confirmed that Sony Music Nashville had cut ties with Sara Evans, The Henningsens, The Swon Brothers, and Josh Dorr.
