Scotty McCreery Receives First College Acceptance Letter

Scotty McCreery recently received that piece of paper every teenager wants – no, not the golden ticket to Hollywood, but his first college acceptance letter.

The singer just revealed to BlogCritics.org that he’s been accepted into East Carolina. “That’s the first place that I’ve heard back from,” Scotty says. “I’ve applied to North Carolina State as well. Also, Belmont University and Middle Tennessee State. We’ll see where I end up, but we’re not certain yet.”

Though he’s not sure of the location, Scotty is dead-set on going to college, and he’s planning on majoring in marketing or communications. Even with his promising career, he wants to make sure he has a plan to fall back on if he needs it.

As of right now, that’s not a problem – he’s currently touring with Brad Paisley while he finishes up his senior year of high school. “It’s really cool for me to be able to do both,” he says. “It’s been a fairly nice balance with schoolwork and being on the road. We’ve made it work.”

In addition to the tour, Scotty’s album Clear As Day is now certified platinum, and he’s been nominated for New Artist of the Year at the Academy of Country Music Awards. No matter which school he’s going to attend, it’s clear he has a great future ahead of him.
